Drinking away the part of the day I cannot sleep away.
I've found myself nostalgic for a time I never knew. I don't know the people and I don't know the place. How can we look back at what never happened and miss the hell out of it? It's like that song by Brian Adams. Maybe it's like that song by Bryan Adams. This isn't a spelling test. The summer of '69. The summer of '99. The summer of '09. Oh wait, thats looking forward. I was asked how badly do I want this. I told myself I really want this. Can I still stand behind that? Can you still stand behind me? Do you look back at us like I look back at you? We never let strangers in. So, I guess it'd be the same for you. Did you even want to be a part of what we wanted? Was it the difference of goals or just misunderstanding of situation? Maybe the nostalgia is misplaced and it is loathing that I feel. Current Music: Lonesome Crowded West |

They say this is the city.
I just got done browsing through old posts from 2004. I can't believe my level of anger. I speak of smashing faces with hammers. I talk about someone particular that I clearly hate. I don't even remember who it is. I can guess but I just don't remember that well. Some of my past thoughts are humorous or even deep but most are full of anger that I don't think I could possess now. I look back on myself and I concluded that I was a fucked up kid. That all to it. My favorite thing I found was from a quiz. It goes like this: "Sexual preference: socks on" haha. what the fuck?! On a present note: Apparently, I only claim to be nice. Show me an emotion. Also. if any humans read this. please burn me a CD. I want some music. Current Mood: olderCurrent Music: MF from Hell |

I was walking into the grocery store this evening when some crazy haired, bug-eyed lady informed that my haircut is "FEROCIOUS." Although I did get my hair cut this weekend, let me tell you that it is a mild-mannered style that stands out above no one. It just got me thinking that I wish I had crack that good. I hope we all take the upcoming _______ very seriously.
So far, it has been a great week. and lucky for you it has been DOCUMENTED!!!Michael's birthday week was pretty fun. They were some of the best parties I've been to in a while. The best part was the fact that it was celebrated three times, in three different places, with three different groups of people. Shallow Palace's show at New Brookland Tavern on tuesday was quite a blast. We played with Jukebox the Ghost, Brother Sister, and The Wintersounds. Jukebox the Ghost was fucking great. It was refreshing to play with bands I actually like watching and listening to. Once we went on stage, I realized just how small that stage was. We played pretty sloppy, but it was fun. Always good to rock out with my friends. On Wednesday, I went to Charlotte to work the Flaming Lips show at Amos' Southend. We arrived early so we went downtown and hung around some of the bars and big buildings. We discovered Phil's the "hottest staffed bar in town". After that we saw Birds of Avalon and The Flaming Lips. The Lips were out of this world. Everything about their show was brilliant. The songs, the way they were played, the props, the lights, the players, the crowd involvement, the equipment, the energy. It was such a positive and strong experience. I was overly impressed and honored to be there. Maybe we can stop moving foward and start moving in L-shapes. Current Mood: strangerCurrent Music: Are you a hypnotist?? |
